Rearcross U-12's trekked to Borrioskane for this league encounter against the home side played on a state of the art All Weather Pitch and came away with a merited 3-1 win on the day. Played at a fast pace throughout, the home were first to fire on target with a Fichra Farrell-Bond effort which was blocked by Cathal Kennedy in the Rearcross goals. Stephen Rochford shot across the face of the Borrisokane goal on six minutes while a counter attack saw Rearcross let off the hook at the expense of a corner kick. Cillian Kennedy's shot was saved on the line by custodian Dylan Slevin who had a fine outing between the posts. The Rea boys hit the front on the 11th minute when a long ball down the centre was chested down by Colm Lenihan to Patrick Dawson who let fly with a looping volley that went all the way to the roof of the net. Fichra Farrell-Bond was a threat for Borrisakane throughout and came close again with a good effort eleven minutes before the break. Dylan Slevin was to fore towards the end of the half with two top drawer saves to deny the visiting side. Rearcross signalled intent right from the kick off in the second half and a Stephen Rochford effort wasn't far way seconds in, the away side went on to double their tally two minutes later when Patrick Dawson broke on the right before driving across the goal line where Danny Poyzer had ghosted through to prod home from close range. Rearcross were dictating the pace at this stage and Cillian Kennedy's shot was heading for the net, however Dylan Slevin turned the ball away with a one handed save. Good play from Paul Nolan in the middle of the field saw Stephen Rochford find space on the left who sent teh ball over the goal line from a tight angle to give Rearcross a three nil advantage. Cathal Kennedy made a good block to thwart Borrisokane with five minutes to play after reflexing to divert the ball away with his boot. Borrisokane didn't give up though and pulled a goal back in injury time when Ruairi Connolly's free kick from distance screamed all the way to the top corner.
